This will be my fourth year as a teacher in the Ridgefield School District.  A career teacher/coach, I have taught in several school districts including Camas, Evergreen, Anacortes and Riverview. I have a great passion for teaching strength and conditioning and am an active and certified member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association and USA Weightlifting.

I am currently the head strength and conditioning coach for Ridgefield HS.  I work with student athletes from all sports.  We also offer a conditioning program for athletes grades 7-12 during the summer.  We recently just completed a state of the art weight room.  This facility was designed from the ground up for Ridgefield HS.

I earned my MS Education-Health from Cortland State University in Cortland, New York and my BS PE/Athletic Training from Portland State University. I love coaching and have been a head or an assistant football coach and strength coach for over 30 years.  In addition I have coached track and field and weight lifting.  Fitness/strength and health/wellness are a way of life for me.

My regular fitness activities include weight lifting, functional cross training, mountain biking and hiking.  My outdoor hobbies include motocross, mountain biking, skiing and snow boarding and fishing.  I am married to my wife Jan of 32 years and have two fantastic children, Dean and Gretchen.  We also have our beloved dog "Pete," an American Bulldog.
