This is my third year as a teacher in the Ridgefield School District.  However, I am not new to teaching.  A career teacher/coach, I have taught in several school districts including Camas, Evergreen, Anacortes and Riverview. I have a great passion for teaching strength and conditioning and am an active and certified member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association and USA Weightlifting.

I earned my MS Education-Health from Cortland State University in Cortland, New York and my BS PE/Athletic Training from Portland State University. I love coaching and have been a head or an assistant football coach and strength coach for almost 30 years.  In addition I have coached track and field and weight lifting.  Fitness/strength and health/wellness are a way of life for me.

My regular fitness activities include weight lifting, functional cross training, cycling, jogging and hiking.  My outdoor hobbies include motocross, skiing and snow boarding and fishing.  I am married to my wife Jan of 30 years and have two fantastic children, Dean and Gretchen.  We also have our beloved dog "Pete," an American Bulldog.
