This is my third year at Ridgefield High School.  My husband’s job with the United States Department of Agriculture in Portland, OR moved us to the area.  I have taught science since 1994 as an environmental educator and a classroom teacher in school districts in Iowa, Colorado, Alaska and most recently, Wyoming.  I love teaching all sciences but chemistry and biomedical are my favorites.

I was born and raised in Iowa City, Iowa and graduated from Iowa State University in 1993 (BS) and University of Iowa in 1999 (MAT Science Education). My husband, Casey and I have two daughters, Maddy (18) who is a freshman at Western Washington University and Izzy (13) who is an 8th grader at View Ridge Middle School. We also have one english setter (Eva) and one bearded dragon.
