Welcome to English with Mr. Ochsner! My name is Tyler Ochsner, and I am excited to work with you this school year!

I grew up in Olympia, Washington, and I have lived in Southwest Washington for the past few years. I am looking forward to starting my third year at RHS as a Spudder! As far as my educational background is concerned, I have my bachelor's degree in Communication (Journalism) from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, WA, a master's degree in Management Communication from the University of Portland in Portland, OR, and my teaching credentials from Saint Martin's University in Lacey, WA.

In both English 10 and English 11, we will be covering broad literacy skills including reading and writing, public speaking, academic discussions, critical thinking and analytical skills, and vocabulary and language skills. For English 10, we will be reading books and novels including To Kill a Mockingbird, Fahrenheit 451, Macbeth, and Lord of the Flies. For English 11, our units of study will include reading The Crucible, Night, A Streetcar Named Desire. One of the areas of focus in English 11 will be on research writing and completing several research projects.

For more information regarding class deadlines, assignments, projects, you may go to Google Classroom as this will be the most up to date information. Also, Skyward Family Access will be an excellent tool for seeing posted grades that have been recently updated.
