Bio: I was born and raised in Raymond, Washington, and graduated from Raymond High School in 1974. I attended Saint Martin's College after high school, played basketball for four years, met the love of my life Mary, and graduated with a degree in Education in 1978. I started teaching in the Ridgefield School District in 1978 at Union Ridge elementary, the land of the Tator Tots. After 4 years at the 6th level and 1 year at View Ridge Middle School, I moved up to teach at Ridgefield High School where I have been ever since. I have taught World Geography, Washington State History, US History, Government, and AP US History at RHS. I am beginning my 41st year of teaching and coaching in the Ridgefield school district. Coaching at the middle school and high school for 40 years has been a blessing. I was the head boys basketball coach at RHS for 27 years and this spring will be my 33rd year as the head track coach at RHS. I am also currently coaching middle school football and 8th grade girls basketball at View Ridge Middle School. I got my masters degree at the University of Portland. My wife Mary is also a teacher in the Ridgefield School District and all three of our daughters are proud Spudder graduates. I enjoy having many of my former students children in class and my grandson and granddaughter attend Union Ridge. I also have a 2 year old and a 9 month old
